As soon as Thanksgiving is over, Christmas preperation starts. Which I totally don't mind at all! First I'll tell you about Turkey day.
As a tradition, the whole family on Jess' mom's side gathers in one of the uncle's house for a feast dinner. I don't remember how many siblings Madge (Jess' mom) got, but maybe around 6 of them came to the dinner. Yeah, there are a lot of them. Then there's the husbands and wives. Add about 2 kids at least to each of them. Plus some of them had kids of their own. And then there were Grandma. The most precious little lady I've seen in my whole life! At first she almost thought I was Jess, because she couldn't see her haha It was so cute, she even knew I was Swedish! During the night we talked a lot and she told me how much she and Jess are alike, which I can totally see. Oh what a cutie! :) The family were about 4 times as many as my family are all together. Both of my mom and my dad's side. Quite a shock I must say, but a blast! Everyone are really nice and so funny and I had a good time. Plus the food were amazing! And the deserts... I think Christmas will be as fun, if not better!
As a finale of Thanksgiving day, we went to see the new Harry Potter. It was me, Jess, Nick, Madge, cousin Sarah, cousin Carol, cousin Jen and and and I think aunt Debbie. All the aunts looked the same so I think it was her. (I don't even know if I met everybody at the dinner, which I probably didn't do, and I think I said hi to a few twice.) Back to the movie, it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! I can't wait till the last part is out so I can see that one as well. I'm sure it will be another masterpiece.
Yesterday, me and Jess decided to put the Christmas tree together and so we did. They have a plastic tree instead of a real one, but it really looks like a real tree! Madge and Padge (explanation: these are the names Jess call her parents, not the actual ones lol) put up the lights when we were done and it looks so pretty. I can't wait to come back here for Christmas to see all the ornaments up as well! There's also a lot of decorations up in the rest of the house as well and it's so pretty! To continue on the Christmas track, me and Jess did our best to get some of the outdoor decorations up today as well. We managed to get some trees and bushes dressed in lights, plus a concrete line they have on the front of their house under the windows where we let the lights rest. It looks really pretty and well done since it's the first time we did it and since it must have been just below freezing point outside.
Back to yesterday, I got to meet Jess' best friend Lindsey. We went to a nice Chinese restaurant and had dinner, waiting time for a table was 40 min. Ew. That would so not happen in Eling ;) Food was delicious and Lindsey is really nice. We all had a good night I bet. After dinner me and Jess walked around a bit outside the mall it was at because she used to work there. It was over 9pm and one store was still opened so we went in to check if they had any jackets I like and they did. Surprisingly, it's as thin as a spring jacket but as warm as any other jacket I've ever tried! I'm really thinking about buying it, even if it cost $200. It's great quality tho and it's beautiful. Getting it I think!
And then back to today. This evening Jess' parents took us all out for dinner. The food wasn't that great, but we went on lights adventures after and looked at houses outdoor decorations. It was lovely! Me and Jess had done it the night before and it's so pretty with all the lights everywhere. I can't wait till Christmas when there will be snow and the lights! So pretty!!
Tomorrow we're going back to GV again. 3 hours in a car, oh joy!
